That is a hard no from a Sens fan - Jake Sanderson is the best Dman for the Sens; he will also make well below his level of play. Maybe if you took Sanderson out and left Pinto and all the picks it may work

I understand that Sens fans wouldn't want to include Sanderson but the package just being Pinto and the picks wouldn't even be in the same stratosphere in terms of Value to Drai.

I don't think the Sens have assets outside of Sanderson to get Drai, he would be the only piece Edmonton would want but the Sens understandably aren't gonna give him up

I almost feel like this is a no from both teams. As weird as that sounds...

Ottawa wouldn't be too keen on shipping Sanderson anywhere.

And for Edmonton, the value is just not there. Looking at the Tkachuck trade a few years back, where is the Huberdeau-level player (Timmy/Brady) going back? Drai deal would start with those two, if not those two then Chabot ++++. Just because they are contending now and LD isn't a priority add for us, especially a young developing one yk

As crazy as it sounds it would have to be Chabot + BT with the Sens taking back Campbell for this to be possible. Not something the Sens would do so I don't even know why they're a destination for him

Agreed. And I don't know why they would do that with Drai as a UFA in 2 years.

It might only be his sophomore season but Sanderson is absolutely in the tier of Brady/Stutzle when it comes to trade value

No one said it would be Pinto and the picks. A deal is more likely to look like:

Norris or Chabot
Pinto or Batherson
2 1sts

But he’d need to be extended

Tkachuk trade was a special scenario, a Draisaitl trade wouldn't be the same. There's no way Drai is returning Stutzle. The only reason Tkachuk got Huberdeau (a similar player to Tkachuk)+ is because he's older than Tkachuk and had no contract. Tkachuk was trade for two high-end rentals + a prospect + a 1st. It was also said to be the best offer by far. Draisaitl is one of the best C in the game but with a year left, he'll only fetch players who are lesser than himself by a lot. Probably a young C like Norris (Stutzle is too good) would have to be coming back unless Pinto is good enough to be a 2C by then (which I doubt) and maybe Chychrun (if OTT hasn't agreed to an extension) + a good B-prospect + a 1st. He's more than likely not coming with an extension in place but there's no way OTT would do it without knowing that he's at least interested. If Chychrun extends in OTT, then they are likely trading Batherson or someone else who is making around 5M to make the cap work. Chabot could be on the table too with the Oilers sending a useful/serviceable 3M defender back perhaps.

Chabot + Pinto and two 1sts is nice but I'd rather have a younger top-4 guy that Edmonton can sign long-term on their own terms. I get it's super specific but when you're trading a player like Drai you're allowed to be

Sorry but not trading Sanderson for Draisaitl 1 for 1, so not even looking at what the other pieces were

Edit : no to Zohorna and Silfverberg. Yes to Jost. Yes to one of Walker or Seeler

Where are Brannstrom and Kastelic? Just disappeared for nothing lol

Ottawa would obviously have to send an expensive forward back... like Norris (not sure Tkachuk would be happy with that, plus Draisaitl might bump him from playing with Stutzle and wouldn't even have Norris-Batherson to play with)

Norris + Batherson + Brannstrom + 1st (2025) + 2nd (2025) is the max I'd pay. Draisaitl doesn't have term and will cost a pretty penny. And for sure wouldn't do that without the extension in place

No problem if you want to find someone else who'd pay more.

lol what?

Sanderson is way more valuable than 29 y/o Huberdeau and his pending contract was...

Drai deal would start with those two

Wait, what???? You really think Draisailt needs to return Stutzle + Tkachuk and more? lol you guys really have no idea how this works...

Do you realize that Stutzle and Draisaitl have the same PPG right now and will most likely be close going forward? Stutzle is 21 and has 8 years at 8.35 AAV

No chance Ottawa trades Stutzle for Draisaitl. You thinking that they'd need to add Tkachuk and more makes it quite funny
