They will, as they do not have a choice with Karlsson's NTC and Ottawa being one of the few teams he would be willing to go for - At least you get a younger cheaper D in return

Sens
Josh Anderson is not a top 6 player anymore, but in a bottom 6 role is still a pain in the ass to play against which the Sens need that.
Min I agree with your tandem but Gus is not really great this year plus Flower is not signed - don't be surprised to see him back where it all started to finish his career if it isn't already done. You want a goalie who has taken on the same number of games as Korpi, which Gus hasn't, with your stud prospect on a defensive team, would be solid.
Yes Norris is a risk due to injury but Saros isn't sticking around - Brannstrom is a good player not being played where he should Norris could be a 40 goal scorer and Nashville has the goalie prospects coming up

Time to get rid of the toxic locker room
Gonna piss off a lot of fans here, but Matthews is toxic, and yes, you lose a guy who can score 60, but what else does he do, bring in needs and save money. This team is supposed to be a contender but can't compete, and the lack of effort, not talent - time to switch things up

That is a hard no from a Sens fan - Jake Sanderson is the best Dman for the Sens; he will also make well below his level of play. Maybe if you took Sanderson out and left Pinto and all the picks it may work

The 2024 Stanley Cup Champions
Ok so let me break this down -
Garland has requested the trade - his value was just cut in half
So far this preseason and three games, Mathue Joseph has proven to be competitive and, when given the time on ice, can play - no longer will the Sens pay to get rid of him
Brannstrom is a top 4 two way more offensive-minded player who can play both sides and something Canucks need
JBD is a big stay-at-home man who is a highly desired player who has no room in our current lineup but would benefit Canucks when they want to be competitive in a year or two - for cheap
Yes, Canucks will take on Garland's salary for three Canucks Roster players who can fill some serious holes. (Garland is the same player quality as Joseph at half the price.

Maybe
Joseph goes to Pittsburg, but the Ducks retain half his salary. This would help Pitts and Ott with Cap and supply NHL-ready players for Ducks for their future.
Pitts - Joseph
Ducks - Brannstrom
Thompson
pick from Pitts
Lars Eller
injured Guntzel
Sens - Get picks from Pitts and Ducks

The 2024 Stanley Cup Champions
Ok, So the benefit for the Ducks here is Brannstrom; he would be a first-rounder to get, but there is a slight dip on Joseph, and it isn't that bad, but he paid about 1 million too much. Hence the 2nd and third with the prospect of Egor, who is NHL-ready on a team like the Ducks.
As for Tatar - it is the end of Aug, and he isn't signed, which means he isn't getting big money, so yah, 1 million on a declining player, maybe 1.5

Not a play off team
This is being generous with getting Kane a deal to play with his old line mate Debrincat, but this team still is still pretty weak, and a lot of over-the-hill players on that back end.

Lets see what the rumor brings us
Before going crazy on terms with Tarasenko, I think if he had better than that offer, he would have taken it, and the Sens give him the best term taking him to 35. Pinto is a bridge deal to wait for the cap to go up. And the Power play instead of a 1/2 will depend on the opponent - one will shoot a lot and accurately, and the other can move the puck around any team while taking fewer but skilled shots.
I also belive Brannstrom will be used at deadline with Tyler Kleven replacing him at some point to bring in reinforcements for play offs
This would be a legit playoff team with the required spread of wealth for a good run.

If your inside information. It’s actually not about Debrincat in that trade it’s more of a top end defence man and a top 6 centre going the other way

Gives Ducks another year to figure out long term plan
So the GM is afraid to sign him and Terry long term and you think that will piss the player off? Good luck also it’s a win win as Debrincat has better stats and an addition of two more first rounders is an over payment for Zegras but does make sense for both teams

oh sure, take away Josh Norris a legit number 1 centre in the NHL and a potential future Norris candidate in Jake Sanderson, for a centreman asking to go to his third team in the last 5 years. Yeah hard no from the Sens. The Leafs have a better chance at winning the Stanley cup than this trade happing

I could not add in draft picks, and Debrincat is a player Philly could use for scoring. Rebuilding, yes, but we still need some decent forwards. The three players though will age well for the rebuild and gives a top 4 defenceman for Phill with a top-line LW.
As for the Sens not being close, you may want to listen to some experts; even without Debrincat, they have a stacked top 6, and their top 4 D is probably one of the best in the league now with Chycryun

A no from Ottawa - We have two better centremen than Dubois in Stutzel and Josh Norris with a third line Centre of Shane Pinto. I think Sens are ok in the centremen.
Also, Zub isn't going anywhere as he is the only stay-at-home RD in the top 4.

Crazy Rumor
I doubt Sens will take Karlsson at this point. Their top 4 don't need him, and the Sens will be paying Jake Sanderson next summer, so putting that much money into defence is not logical.
Sens need and want a goalie. No matter what, a starting goalie will be coming to the Sens this summer because that and having Chychrrun for the year should make them a competitive playoff team.
If and really if Debrincat is traded, it won't be the end of the world as Sens's top 6 is stacked for next year; adding in a top prospect winger in that position would be ok, or there are many LW available to fill that role like Killorn.

Trading for needs
Ok, so there may be more draft picks in this deal, but NYR gets another 40-goal scorer, and they might use that to entice Patrick Kane to stick around for a discount to play with Debrincat. They also get a solid two-way defender in Brannstrom, that can play the top 4 on either side at a lower price.
Ottawa gets a failed project from NYR, but with a high upside in the same age range as Timmy, he can potentially take the LW behind Brady and have Giroux do what he did with Timmy. Miller being on the back end on the 3rd line D, is big and can shut down. They get their starting goalie from Philly with another shutdown forward to add depth.
Philly, as I said, would need more picks, most likely but gets a solid prospect goalie/ a good two-way centre who can play up and down the line at their level of the team to start their rebuild.

A big move to help
CBJ had a bad year and need to shake up their locker room, Kyle Connor is the type of player who can add to the point total plus a solid depth FWD with potential top 6 ability.
OTT- gets their goalie which with who they have give them a contender
WIN- starts by getting a 1st in a very deep draft while losing two players who probably won’t be part of a long term plan for a rebuild. They get one of the best goalie prospects along with some players who are NHL ready when called up and have been great on the international stage so far.

Both sides would think it is not a good deal but this is comparable to what Sens got for Karlsson. It will free up cap space for players like O’Rielly who was an important factor in the play offs. It also drops the dead wait of Murray

Meets the current needs of all three teams
Before everyone goes no way- look at each player and the current prices of some.
Ottawa wants a RD stay at home and a depth fwd
St Louis in a retool needs to drop salary while bring in the next wave of players
Vancouver is in a retool/rebuild but need a young RD to be beside Huges as a stay at home RD but have time to build that chemistry.
Ottawa solid stay at home RD at 50% of salary with Lazar as a depth fwd where he was drafted
St. Louis gets solid prospects with contract control for awhile
Canucks get a minor Dman who is very close to NHL ready and huge potential with a better draft pick for taking on contract and giving up a rental
