You are asking Chicago to retain 50 million dollars. You could put Mcdavid in there any they still probably decline

Why would the blues do this. We have Krug, Leddy, Scandella, Tucker, on the left side so no need for another defensemen on that side. Also we are not trading Parayko at all.

In addition to the points already made by others as to why Chicago shouldn’t make this deal, you have missed the fact that they only have two retention spots remaining and therefore are unable to retain on all three of the players you have them retaining on above.
