WHAT CAN WE DO WITH ALMOST ZERO CAP SPACE VERSION TWO MINIMUM CONTRACTS ONLY

Created by: Pens3lieve
Team: 2023-24 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 1, 2023
Published: Dec. 3, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Accurate/Prorated
LTIR Enabled: Yes
Season Days: 192
Days Remaining: 49
Season Remaining: 26%
Projected Cap Hit Prior To Days Remaining Tooltip : $85,338,266
Description
I tried to leave only around 50 days remaining in the season to make it more realistic for acquiring other players cap hits. this is version 2 of this idea/post...
assuming jeff carter won't waive his NMC to help PIT gain cap space Dubas is left with either trading an underperforming player like Graves, Acciari, Rakell or Nieto or just acquiring minimal cap hits like 1.5M or below...
version 3 of this post will explore trading Rakell... as he does not have trade protection and Dubas did not sign him.

=====Trade Targets with Low Cap Hits (up to 50% retained if needed)=====

Centres- Nick Dowd, Oscar Sundqvist, Michael Pezetta, Travis Boyd

Wingers- Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Sammy Blais, Eeli Tolvanen, Brandon Duhaime, Ryan Hartman, Pat Maroon, Emil Bemstrom, Alexandre Texier, Boris Katchouk, Taylor Raddysh, Adam Ruzicka, Aj Greer, Dillon Dube (only with over 50% retention), Michael Carcone, Liam O'Brien

Defensemen- Dakota Mermis, Zach Bogosian, Adam Boqvist, Nick Seeler, Travis Dermott, Sean Durzi, Troy Stetcher

===================================================

Comment down below who you think the pens should go after and could fit under the cap? (players with minimal cap hits in the spirit of this post ofc)

I like the first one and meh on the 2nd one but the 3rd one absolutely not. I know you're not a pens fan so I'm not gonna give you crap for it but just though you should know MP28 has probably been the best defensive defenseman on the left side this year

Depends on how he’s doing. I’d think the Penguins would prefer to send the 2024 pick with protection — there’s a bit of security with that pick that there isn’t for the 2025 one.
