There's no incentive for Winnipeg to pay to downgrade in the Montreal trade.

Anaheim isn't trading Zegras.

You pay for the cap relief of 3 725mill. You also get back a 4th and a 3rd liner. Pretty affordable price for a 2nd imo

Idk how good Schmidt is defensively so I might be wrong, but 1 point in 20 games makes him very expendeble for the jets

Schmidt is actually doing pretty well he's playing solid defense on the 3rd pair, he's just not scoring.

Dvorak doesn't have a spot in Winnipeg. He can't beat out anyone in the Jets bottom six, so he'd be fighting to sit in the press box.

The bottom line is Schmidt is still a useful player and good depth for Winnipeg while Dvorak doesn't give the Jets anything they need.

Even in a world that Zegras is available (which he isnt) That offer is nowhere close to getting him tears of joy

I would be interested in Dvorak, but the Jets no longer have a PLD to trade for him lol.

Windjammer believes that Schmidt, along with Brendan Dillon, are norris contenders

Schmidt has been a terrible liability for 2 years now Jammer, Stanley is less of a liaibility out there....

Watch himm in the D zone.. brutal coverage.. bad decision making, cant make a breakout pass to save his life, theres a reason Stanley and Chisholm have played isntead of him at times. If Heniola wasnt injured Schmidt wouldve been riding pine all year so far
