Cap is King and Conroy knows it

Created by: OilersMcRockin
Team: 2023-24 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 4, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think this is the type of return your going to see for a lot of Calgary's players. They are excited to sell and I think a lot of brink or bridge teams like below are going to take keen interest in a lot of their players. Looking at this especially as an Oilers fan, I think this is exactly what they can get, especially at trade deadline for these players.

I think some of these deals, like the Edmonton and Toronto deals, will come sooner rather than later, but overall I think Conroy becomes flexible in retention because of knowing cap is king. He is going to rake some GM's over the coals and get some pretty nice draft assets in the process.

Let me know what you think of these deals! I think there is a fit for each and every player on each team, it's just a matter of what the package looks like.

I'd rather the Caps give up that package for Hanifin than Lindholm. He's younger and fills a hole in our roster.

Thats fair, I had it from anywhere in the 7.75 to 8.5 range, anywhere there is acceptable imo for the caps, he is the backstrom replacement.

I think he'll be at 8.5 minimum if he gets to UFA. no other Cs on the market

honestly fair, Imagine if you acquired both though, Replacing backstrom was what I was getting at, a lot of people think hes done. But your right, they also need to get another Dman, Caps are back I would say, but imagine that cost. Holy heck that would be right up there for the trade of the decade thus far.

The contract won't be an issue for the caps, just because everyone has reported that Backstrom is as good as done. As long as its less than 9, I think the caps sign it all day.

We don't need another C. We need a winger

Can't see Buffalo doing that Hanifin trade, don't think he fits what we need. We need a Top 4RD. Think if I could get Lindholm to sign a decent extension I would rather do a Deal for him.

Nah

Look what Zadorov went for. If anything probs will see Tanev go for a 2nd + 3rd or heck maybe even 2 3rds and a prospect

Cause Conroy has shown he cant win a trade rn

Caps haaaaard pass. Lindholm is so overrated and won't live up to his next contract.

Don't be too quick to judge Conroy, Lafferty just played on Vans top line, so you could have cap space for Reaves and Klingberg.
