Why on earth would Ottawa even consider that? That Kampf deal is going to cost assets to move....

Trading Brodie makes our team instantly worse. Ottawa would want picks and not a pending UFA, if they sell at the deadline.
Stl fans are going to hate you for this.

When you thought of these trades, did you ever stop to consider how the trade works for the other teams?

I see the Sens giving up a 2nd line scoring winger for a #5D and #4C, while adding $7.4M in cap space, on top of retaining $2.5M on Tarasenko. How the hell do you figure they add $5M when they're already at the cap?

I would advise you to think of the other teams or else you'll always be in NHL24 land

This is a pathetically weak offer for Tarasenko.

Ottawa declines.

Try again.

Brodie is a very solid #3D. But I agree with everything else you said. This makes no sense for Ottawa. (Toronto shouldn't touch this either, since Brodie is a stud).

I agree with you that he's a solid #3, but is he better than any of Sanderson/Chychrun/Chabot/Zub? Almost definitely not, so he'd very likely be #5D in Ottawa

This I can agree with. I would say he is very comparable to Zub.

He is the Leafs Zub. Hence why we shouldn't trade him. And Brodie being a pending UFA brings no value to Ottawa in this situation either because they are selling.

Even if it was tempting (and it's not), Sens can't add 5 M$ on the cap just like that

Ottawa would want picks and not a pending UFA, if they sell at the deadline.

Sens are very unlikely to sell this season.

If the Sens win their next game, they're back to .500. The team that holds the 2nd wild card spot right now has a 0519 P%.

Sens are likely to stay in the mix, particularly if something happens regarding the coaching staff.

So assuming they don't sell, this proposal could make sense IF it was Tarasenko for Brodie and Järnkrok

No idea how to make it work cap wise for both teams though. I guess with no retention and Ottawa trades Kubalik for a pick separately

That would also mean that we could trade Brannstrom for a young forward (I'd target a guy like Tolvanen before Seattle)

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Giroux
Norris - Greig - Batherson
Joseph - Pinto - Järnkrok
Kelly - Chartier - Kastelic

Sanderson - Zub
Chabot - Brodie
Chychrun - JBD
Hamonic
