Up by $5M
Zadorov + Cole clears $6.75M
DeSmith clears $1.8M
Brown clears $1.25M
Blueger clears $1.9M

So that is $16.7M in cap space. You can replace those guys (Backup, 3rd pair, 4th line) with league minimum guys so that's ~$4M.

So you have $12.7M in cap space to give raises to Hronek, Nylander, Petterssen, Liligren.

If Petterson make $11M ->$3.65M
Nylander makes $10.5M -> $3.5M
Hronek makes $8M ->$3.6M
Liligren makes $3M ->$1.9M

so the money works.

The leafs are trying to win now, this doesnt help them at forward or defence and the picks arnt near good enough to make the difference

These trades aren't going to work for two reasons. Leafs aren't rebuilding and this goes against the team Tocchet wants to build. Kuzmenko could be moved for 2 way top six goal scorer (ie. Jenner)
