I don't see any way Edmonton does this. They are so thin on defense already, Broberg is also 2 years younger

Why is it "trade Broberg Day" today? Did Friedman have a thought?

I think the only way Calgary gets their hands on Broberg is taking back big money in either Ceci, Kulak or Campbell. Ruzicka is not good, Broberg has all the tools to be good in a bad system. Calgary adds big time here.

Just saw this myself after my above post. While yes it would probably have to be Dollar in Dollar out. I don't see this as realistic. Ruzicka doesn't address anything for the Oilers

Oilers should really put Broberg in the minors to play top minutes while he's waiver exempt and snag a cheap veteran for depth, theres probably someone kicking around that'd take a league minimum deal.

I just think they would be looking at players who are actual upgrades to their roster. Has Broberg's value fallen off? Yes. Is he still worth a defensively reliable player on a cheap contract? Absolutely. I look at a player like Nick Seeler or Jason Dickinson and think he would be good for their roster
