Why would Buffalo get rid of 30 goals a season for a scratch player. 6M Skinner has a ton of value

I don't see Skinner getting moved any time soon. Pegula isn't about to eat 12 million dollars to move him, it was his stupid idea to give him that contract.

I wouldn't mind taking on Clifton's deal. A change of scenery could be good for him, he isn't that far removed from some very good seasons in BOS. Which also leads me to believe that BUF probably wouldn't have to pay to move his contract. But I could be wrong about that.

I would decline if I’m Chicago, $3.33m for two seasons for a sub six foot, third pairing d-man is too steep a price to pay. I would rather save the cap space for Pesce, Hanifin or a handful of other potential FA d-men. If Buffalo wants to increase the draft pick attached that may change things but a 4th round pick isn’t enough.

Even if what you said is true, a 6M Skinner has value around the league, and another team could even hold an extra 3M (or more don’t know if they can hold up to 50% of the original deal or just what the currently have) and receive and absolute boatload. Could you imagine how valuable Skinner would be to Tor at 3M for 3 years? He also declines movement unless it’s to Tor btw.

There’s ZERO CHANCE the Sabres dump Skinner in a trade like that
