Lopsided in favour of MTL, however Xhejaj can help VAN in a playoff run right now, and the 2nd is only in 2026. I would still make the trade if VAN would only add a 4th, it is how much I like Brzustewicz. But in terms of value, context and need, it is about fair.

Xhekaj would be a healthy scratch for the Canucks. We have 4 better LHD. I wouldn’t give up Brzustewicz (who’s looking like a steal) straight up for him, definitely not giving Brzustewicz + a 2nd

Does VAN have any interest in Xhekaj? Otherwise, MTL would simply flip a late 1st (its alleged value) to a willing team. MTL has to much LHD, and with Struble coming, he is expendable. MTL won't trade him within its conference though, nobody likes to get their ass kicked by a former teammate

Canucks will have Soucy and Zadorov and oh yeah, Quinn Hushes on the left as well as Cole in reserve. How will this help Van who need RHD? And Brzustewicz, is not on the table. Would Montreal consider moving Barron for Kuzmenko? Straight up?

And who gonna play RHD in Montreal ? One of the reason Savard is so much injured is because there no alot of player in Montreal able to play RHD and eat big minutes which leave the vets doing alot of job and stretching him alot.

Outside of Savard, kovacevic and Barron I don't see anyone ready to be top 6 NHL. Both Mailloux and Reinbacher are 1/2 season to be ready.
