So you want Columbus to pay $25 million dollars for the right to sign Nylander to one of the biggest UFA contracts of the next decade, downgrade from Laine for Bertuzi, and the payment for all of that is a late first and a couple of prospects that pale in comparison to what Columbus already has in their pipeline?

And you know you can input retention, right? It's part of the trade, the little + symbol next to the players name let's you type in a retention dollar value.

Remember when Patrick Laine thought he should be the 1st overall pick over Auston Matthews?
Laine 492 gp, 200 g, 182 a, 382 pts. Matthews 498 gp, 313 g, 250 a, 563 pts.
Laine is a 1 dimensional $6.6M player who gets healthy scratched. Why would the Leafs want him? Werenski, now he is worth trading for, but you have the Leafs overpaying huge. Cowan is a 1st, then you are adding another, don't care about adding Voit, don't need to add Bertuzzi, I guess we could add Timmins. Adding Nylander is plain silly. Would consider Werenski straight up for Nylander. If you insist you add boat anchor Laine Leafs request you retain $3.3M & Leafs offer Reaves, insurance paid Klingberg, Benoit, Lagesson and pray we can offload Laine.

How are they playing? Do they have the right mix? Do they wanna save money, and push forward to the first overall pick?
any other questions?

Well like you are giving them Nylander, so they really won't get any worse if he keeps playing like he is, he will not resign there, so they are just giving 2 major players they committed to for a late first and a bunch of players leafs fans overrate

Not even to mention that you want 50% retained xD

And also for leafs why would they even send Nylander away who is playing truly Elite

Get real with that retention, first of all. Absolutely not. A late first and some prospects that wouldn’t scratch Columbus’s top five is no incentive at all to trade a franchise cornerstone for a rental as a last place team. And that’s not even considering the obvious fact that Werenski would never approve this.

Reading is a skill. I want 1/2 retention if we were to take on Laine. No need to retain on Werenski but also no need for us to back up the brings truck which was the original ask.

You think laine is a negative asset? Let alone one worth 25 million in retention? Lol Toronto must have great dope up there. Like i said there’s literally nothing Toronto could offer to get werenski half retained

Yes, Laine is a negative asset tied to an inflated contract. I never said anything about retaining half on Werenski.
