I don't think Toronto considers this nonsense. Why the huge package of some very good prospects (Cowan, Niemela, Woll) for an almost 10 million dollar goalie? Why are we resigning an injury prone goalie in Murray. Why Tanev, why not go after Pesce or Hanifin if available?

Isn't that the exact same package as what Tampa traded for Jeannot?

There is no chance that TB will trade Vasilevsky to the Leafs for a futures package. Maybe in a hockey deal but you're looking at a Matthews trade for sure or Marner if they end up having a better younger goalie. Definitely won't be one for one but yeah. The other scenario would be that Vasi isn't very good anymore at the tailend of his career but the Leafs are willing to take a chance.

Yes I think Tampa would do the trade. Some up and comers at bargain prices and a boatload of draft picks is hard to turn down. Gretzky got traded twice for less. Do you want V gone, of course not but would you profit, yes.

It's double that then add on Cowan, Niemela and Woll

Leafs easily decline... Woll and Hildeby are our goalies of the future
