The Hawks would view Garland as a cap dump and would prefer to keep Murphy for at least another year. I don't think Chicago or Vancouver accept this trade as it doesn't help either team enough to pull the trigger imo.

Leadership means jack in the trade market. Barrie was a leader in the Oilers locker room and was included in the Ekholm trade as a cap dump. He probably isn't even worth a 7th right now, he's probably the worst player in the NHL this year.

I agree. I don't think the Blackhawks are in a hurry to move Murphy though. It would take an overpayment which would make every GM look elsewhere for defensive help.

I think you are either out of your mind or trolling. Garland by himself doesn’t even get Murphy let alone with a pick. Yes, Murphy is having an abysmal season but still has value for the Hawks playing babysitter for rookies. Garland is a middle 6 winger, he is not going to move the needle for the Hawks.

I’m not the one trying to move him, so it is non-value added to make that statement to me . He is as I stated having an abysmal season, but your opinion of the worst player in the league is laughable. Just because you do not see his value does not mean he doesn’t have value to the Hawks. They will be perfectly content to keep him, so you don’t have to worry about how bad he is.

We don't need another smurf. Reichel > Savoie all day. And Knight isn't worth all that, IMO.
