I'd rather keep Johansen. He's been fine, why give away pieces for an unnecessary trade?

Johansen was suppose to be the answer at the 2nd line center but he is too slow and know has very limited ice time.

It's better to shed his cap and bring someone else

I don’t think RyJo is the answer but I also don’t think they would have traded newy if they were willing to go with a young guy and hope he took the leap. I think lindholm is realistically the only option we’ll be able to fit under the cap that I personally think is worth it. Hertl would be a great fit too we just won’t be able to move out enough cap with Girard currently dealing with health stuff

I am a believer in Kovalenko, but hard to truly believe he is going to produce better than Drouin is rn. Drouin has 11 points in last 19 games. He has earned a job, and if anything, he might move to the 3rd line and LoC will lift the quality of the 4th line

Hertl would be good. But his cap hit is like 8 million. On my last GM you would have to shed like 15 million just to have hertl plus Lekhonen coming back off of LTIR. Unless they somehow have sharks retain at least 50% by doing 3 way trade or something then maybe but hertl is already 30 and will be 37 by then I don't think avs will do it.

I think if avs could do a trade an extension for lindholm I would. 5 yr 6 million.

But also next season if landeskog comes back avs only have like 2 million in cap space. There definitely gonna trade 1-2 players.

We currently have enough cap space for lehky to come off LTIR just fine. We’d need to shed only the amount of hertls contract to bring him in which if Girard wasn’t currently dealing with his own personal demons we could do. This is one of the few trades I think moving Girard would make sense but he’s an actual person so moving him while in the assistance program would be ****ed up. Lindholm is also signing a toews level deal minimum

If you do next season armchair you will see avs have 14 million in cap but once you take Lekhonen and landy off.

Your only left with like 2 or 3 million. You trade johansen and girard and you at least have 10-11 million.

I would resign caleb jones. And then all you gotta do is find a 2nd line C and fill the bottom 6.
