Why are the Avs giving up multiple picks for a depth defenseman who cleared waivers this year?

Why are the Leafs giving up next to nothing for Seeler, a guy who has played top 4 minutes for Philly?

Why are the returns on both of those players comparable when Seeler is significantly better?

If Lagesson is expendable for a Leafs team that’s buying at the deadline, why would Colorado (a team with a better blue line than Toronto) have any use for him?
