I feel like I would want more if I am taking on Campbell idk..
Getting a 1st for Jake & MP seems like the minimum..
Only thing is you need to make sure this team is able to compete by next season, since SJ stills owns our 1st.

I think the best case scenario is SJ gets the pick this year. Next year will likely be worse tbh

That Campbell trade is exceptionally bad, man. Not only can we get a haul that includes a 1st for taking Campbell, but we could definitely get a 1st, and probably more, for Jarry.

Even if we are out of it and decide to moderately sell this deadline, we won’t be taking on garbage contracts because the plan will be to reload and try to contend immediately next year.

I feel like we can get more from these teams. Can get a 1st+ with Campbell being in the deal. I'd like a younger roster player added to the Vegas deal. And for Dallas a prospect instead of the 3rd

Agree on the Edmonton front, we could probably get a 1st. I don't think it is a given that we will try and contend next year after selling though

As long as 87 is here, let alone the other vets, I 100% believe we will be trying to contend.

I have faith that we will be fine this year once healthy anyways. I don’t see us buying a huge piece, but I don’t see us selling. Even if we’re out of it, I think that we would still heavily try to extend Guentzel.

If we’re COMPLETELY out of it and if Guentzel has shown 0 sign of wanting to extend, only then do I think we move him. Even if we’re out of it I don’t see us moving Pettersson or Jarry.

See what you are saying but I disagree. Just don't think it's realistic to continue trying to contend if we miss the playoffs multiple years in a row

It’d just be the reality of the situation. Dubas has committed to 87 and the others, can’t see him jumping ship only 1 year after making a big move for Karlsson. Especially considering he hasn’t even had the chance to construct a roster without having to work around Hextall’s malpractice and mistakes. Next year he will have a pretty clean slate and the cap space to build on what he’s started. There’s a lot of hockey left this year. Have faith.

You're definitely getting a first from EDM to take Campbell, that's for sure.

As far as getting a 1st for Jarry on his own.... man idk. the Keumper trade is the closest thing to try and determine a price for Jarry, but given his injuries and lack of playoff success.. idk that a 1st gets that done, specially with his new contract.

I hope you are right and I am wrong. Would hate for them to have traded for Karlsson and then just rebuild a year later. I think everything's in the cards at this point

The only trade I can see is MP sold high. I would love to see some cheap young forwards on ELCs comeback for Jake but I really think we are going to resign Jake.
