Boston not trading Debrusk for 2 guys that don’t crack the lineup and a 3rd.

Bruins reject but I’m confident McLeod is better than everyone on that Bruins 4th line

I understand the argument that Beecher is younger but with his speed and shot McLeod is good for 15-20 goals in an 82 game season

Beecher as a rookie is averaging 10mins a game with 91% defensive zone starts and 2 of his 10 is short handed. He still has almost as much offensive output as McLeod does playing a bigger role.

He is also the best skater on the team.

I’ll stand by it.

The reg 4th line is Beecher/Geekie/Lauko. Lauko is the only one I’d bench him for and he provide grit and fighting that Ryan does not and is much needed.

Heinen is the only guy I could make an argument for and he’s been very good and it’s not really an upgrade other than being able to play center but Bs have 6 in the lineup already. 🤷🏻‍♂️

People are jumping ship too fast on DeBrusk. Yes, his production is down. Yes, he took a bad shot in OT last game. But he still does a lot for this team in the 200 foot game, and his scoring will almost certainly improve next season if they can bring in another high end top 6 player in UFA in the offseason. As long as his next contract reflects his abilities as a complimentary piece, I still want him on this team and in the top 6. We are no longer talking 6x6, more like 4.5-5m with shorter term.

As much as I like and want debrusk I can’t help but worry removing those two from line up will have a serous impact negatively on goals against. Too much to reasonably think debrusk could make up for. I’d be out on how this deal is structured.
