Like the 1st trade and I like Weegar. But don't like the contract and the 1st seems a bit much with the way Mitts has played.

I'll do it for you actually:

Rosen: Point/game in the AHL, which is definitely good, but no guarantee it translates to the NHL level, magic beans at this point for all it matters (IE: Seth Griffith, Frank Vatrano). Don't see how it makes sense for Arizona to move off one of their core pieces when they're signaling they're out of the perpetual rebuild.

Samuelsson: An okay #4 on a good team and Arizona will be hesitant to take on his contract due to their constant financial limbo. Otherwise, Arizona can acquire a top 4 D without having to move off someone like Crouse.

2024 2nd: Throwaway pick.

Jokiharju: Literal bum.

Mittelstadt: Doesn't have the proven track record to be a significant part of a deal to bring in someone like Weegar.

2025 1st: In this scenario, the Sabres are probably a playoff team therefore this pick would be far later than they would want.

Comparing a lottery pick in Rosen who is doing this in the AHL at age 20 to Seth Griffith is some galaxy brain stuff

Samuelsson's contract should be a draw not a hindrance to a team. He's a decent Defensive D that blocks a lot of shots who can play 22min a night at 4.3m for 6 more years. Rosen has turned into a very good 200ft player and is just like any very good prospect added to any good deal.
Mitts since last December has been a Top 10 C in the League. And the only reason Mitts would probably be included is we can't sign everyone. Adams might have messed up signing all these players to Longterm Contracts
Joker is not a bum and is caught in a numbers game with Clifton and E.Johnson who should be sitting instead of Joker. Another Headscratcher by Adams.
Really the only thing that might be out of place is the 2025 1st

Bc in real life, Weegar isn’t the kind of defenseman we are looking for- keep him

And why isn't he, he actually does everything we probably could use. Plays 22min a night, Hits, blocks shots.

These trades make Buffalo worse. We’re sending out Mitts, Jokiharju, Samuelsson, Rosen, and 2 picks for Crouse+Weegar.
Mitts right now has very good analytics, with a very strong team relative corsi and Fenwick, pacing for about 70 points, and overall has been one of the Sabres best couple players this season. Meanwhile Crouse is pacing for about 55 points and has pretty average analytics for Arizona.

Weegar has negative team relative numbers for corsi and Fenwick, and surprisingly those numbers are nearly identical to Jokiharju’s. Samuelsson has worse team relative corsi numbers, but his team relative Fenwick is positive, and significantly better than Weegar’s. Weegar is definitely the better defenseman than either of those two, however he is an offensively inclined player, and we don’t need more of those on defense.

Mitts isn't signed and either is Joker. Weegar is basically a 50/50 guy Defensively and he was top 10 in Norris Voting before going to Calgary 2 years in a row and it wasn't because he was putting up 80pts as a Dman. We have a **** tone of prospects and the picks don't hurt us. Plus Crouse's style would be a perfect add to are top 9. We have a team of Perimeter Pussies.

He’s more offensively oriented, which got him his big Cap number- 6.25mil- & he’s signed into his late 30s (37)
That’s risky
And I’d think if we were gonna bring in a guy at big $$$ who is signed that long, then he’d need to be more of a “shutdown” type

I prefer mitts and Jokers’ contract situations to Weegar, considering they are both RFA and Weegar is on a contract that pays him like a 2/3 D till he’s well into his 30s

That's fine, already said I wouldn't do it cause of the Contract, but that would be the only reason. He's a good Defenseman. Ain't no one waiving there clauses to come to Buffalo anyway at this point.
