Hanifin contract — absolutely not
Roy contract — not sure we give out longer than 2 years on a RHD

Eiserman would be an ELITE add for us

yeahh overpaid a little on hanifin. just told myself that anaheim would need to overpay like 500k to get him.

Wed win the award for the most expensive 3rd line in all of hockey.

I have to back up @GeneralLandro though, Hanafin signing makes no sense for us. Unless we somehow move on from Fowler, even then I don't know. Now, if Hanafin was somehow a right shot defenseman...... Ekblad, how much money you want in free agency?

This would probably be a playoff team, but not a real contender.

Why would the ducks willingly take on that Lee contract?

I assume Hanifin signs 7.5m or so for 7/8 years. I think your valuation on him is very fair and not an over pay. Cap going up to 87.7 will make for some WILD contracts this off season also.

But I understand the fans saying that LD is not a need for Anaheim. Your defensive prospect group is very strong!

I’d sign Roy to a 3 year deal like they did with Gudas. Luneau gets the Zellweger treatment next season and spends the year in SD.

But I think Roy is gonna get paid. He’s very good. And I don’t think the ducks should give him the contract he’ll probably be looking for.

I totally agree — I think it might be Helleson time coming up

I love Anders Lee, and he should be good for around 25 goals for the next couple seasons, but for 7m he's a hindrance. He's lost a step and he was never a great skater to begin with.

I'm looking at guys like Demelo for a short term 2-3 year deal, but just chuck an unreasonable amount of AAV at them.

If it’s not Roy or better just let a kid take his knocks on the 3rd pair and let Drydale and Gudas be the top 2 RD. I’d rather an upgrade in the top 4 for a playoff push than another Lyubushkin filler type for short term. Otherwise just let Luneau or Helleson take their bumps for a season.

Because too many rookies/youth on the roster at one time is a recipe for developmental nightmares. I'd rather get a good 2nd pairing guy like Demelo who's responsible in his own end and takes the PK and let the kids over ripen in the AHL before calling them up. Even if that means doing stupid money to ensure a short contract.

San Diego needs to develop a winning culture to help ensure that development of our 2nd and third round picks proceeds smoothly. No need to go rushing kids through there.
