I still don’t think the Sabres want Allen
BUT
*at this price*
I could see us MAYBE doing it if we strike out on high end options like Saros, etc

So again…. MAYBE

Btw,
I appreciate u posting a REASONABLE trade offer & not the typical nutty stuff i keep seeing from most Habs fans

Hawks decline. Dvorak, with an actual salary of almost $6m, takes at least a 2nd to dump. And Harris isn't a player the Hawks would want. Another LD is the last thing they'll be looking to add.

at anything over 3-3.25m he is IMO and i like Dvorak
Personally i see more value in moving Evans and keeping Dvorak until he's a pending UFA
he'll either improve or he wont but we get a Center for the time period we need one , one who can win Faceoffs at a high volume and rate.

This is an 2024 move so he’s a UFA. Even IF Dvorak was a cap dump, the Habs don’t need the cap space and aren’t deep at Center so it’s a needless and frankly hurtful move for the club.

The Hawks paid for Beauvillier to fill a roster spot after being hit with a string of injuries. They also targeted Beauvillier because he is a FA at the end of the season which means they maintain maximum cap flexibility in the offseason and he is a potential deadline flip given the lack of a long term commitment any acquiring team would have to make.

Dvorak is none of those things, most importantly any team acquiring him will have to absorb a $4.5m cap hit next season and pay out close to $6m in actual $$.

You were better off saying Dvorak would never waive his 8 team no trade clause to go to a bottom feeder because the rest of your arguments are simply moving the goal posts nonsense.

This is next offseason si he is a pending ufa. No point in moving him for less than a third

The Hawks were kind of forced to acquire Beau (or someone like him). Season ending injury to Hall. Prolonged injury to Anthanasou. No top 9 call up available in AHL. And exactly how is acquiring Beau this season an explanation of why the Hawks would want Dvorak for next season?

There was no argument, I was simply explaining why the Hawks acquired Beauvillier and how that is different from going out and getting Dvorak. It’s really not that difficult to understand but unfortunately you seem incapable of grasping the very obvious differences between the two situations and players.
