Even though Konecny would be a great fit and that's not a terrible price, however, Rutger is untouchable at this point. I would say that both Lambert and Rutger are of the table in any trade. Rutger is the future captain and will probably get into the lineup at the end of the season.

I would suggest maybe a Lucius in the deal instead with an extra something or maybe a 1st instead of a 2nd.

Jets have zero need or want for Staal, and even though I’d love to get Konecny, until we address our 2C position, we won’t be doing anything else
