Description

I think if NJ trades for Hanifan, they will attempt to sign him to a long term deal. Obviously, cap will be an issue. Having to sign Mercer and potentially Toffoli will eat into the remaining left. Also need to be careful since L Hughes, Nemec, Holtz, etc will need fresh contracts in a few short years.

That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to deal Palat to clear some cap when those guys need extensions.

IMO Palat is a near impossible trade. NMC, and 6m for three full years. You would think Palat would only want to traded to a contender....maybe in the East, who don't have cap either, for 40 point winger.
Put me down as someone who didn't like the Meier resigning. Again it seemed a signing to justify the trade to acquire him.

NJ wouldn't do this trade 1 for 1 with Siegenthaler's sweetheart contract.

I think they’ll get better but idk what NJ will do besides make the 2nd a 1st. Especially since if they do trade for him, it’s more likely a rental move.

why? You know the problem on the back end is defense and experience right? trading Siegs for hanifin does nothing but makes the defending worse, but hey more goals
