I can tell you that even if Kane accepts a trade to Toronto, Detroit isn't going to sell him for that little being within striking distance of the playoffs.

I am predicting that they won't be in a playoff position by the trade deadline. Kane has a clause in his contract that he is to be traded to a contender if thats the case. They get a pick and a pretty good D prospect. Not a bad return for a guy you signed for nothing. I think he would like playing with Matthews... and knies

A) They are not forced to trade to Toronto
B) a 4th round pick is a 4th round pick
C) this prospect doesn't seem anything but an AHLer
D) Detroit is loaded with LD prospects, which Kokkonen wouldn't even be a top-3 LD prospect in the system.

Don't know where you got the information that Kane has to be traded to a contender from, I haven't found anything on it. I'm sure they would get a better offer from a team Kane would accept a trade to. The prospect has zero value to Detroit.

Toronto sure as hell isn't a contender they're a pretender.

Detroit passes, How many times do we need to repeat that we don't need anymore LHD unless it's a major upgrade. And a garbage 4th round pick doesn't cut it.
