Would much rather target someone other than Monahan if we’re moving our 1st

Agreed rather make a huge deal with Calgary for Lindholm and Tanev over Monahan as Monahan is pretty fragile nowadays.

Not a fan of these trades.
Most likely all of them declined.

We would probably have to use other assets to get a player like Lindholm like lekkermakki which id rather not also Lindholm declined a 9 million AAV over 8 years from Calgary. Monahan would be much easier and cheaper to re-sign.

I think so I think might be able to get Mantha Retained and a conditional 1st from Washington for Kuzmenko and use that pick and possibly ours this year for Lindholm and Tanev and using none of Top 5 prospects should be okay I think 2 or 3 of Klimovich/Woo/Jurmo/Truscott/Bloom would be a fair price to pay just so and giving them Myers to trade away for an extra pick and to balance the salaries if we are going heavy at the deadline. And 9m is a bit steep I think but would for a 3-4 years would be manageable

Personally, I would probably take Myers for that. Considering how he has played with Hughes this season, I would like to see him play with Korchinski, and then we can get Murphy back into a shut down role, rather than a support role.

For a team that's possibly just opening their window and one that lacks prospect depth, that's a lot of picks to give up for a couple of UFA's.

It seems like it but we only are giving up picks this year and we are keeping the majority of our picks for the next couple of seasons, so IMO it's fine especially considering those picks are going to be late this year, as for the traded picks that we trade that doesn't really cause us much damage as they probably won't be able to contribute for atleast 3 years so not much of a worry for the canucks at this point.

From whose end would it be declined?

    By Vancouver.

    Kuzmenko isn't being moved.

    Myers isn't being moved.

Monahan is not worth Horvat money. Monahan is worth a 2nd give or take +

Tanev is worth a 2nd on his own, not two. Two if he's being retained 50%.

I'd disagree with Kuzmenko if his Tochett continues to play him on the 4th line then it makes sense to trade him especially considering he has a 2nd year on his contract.

Myers should be moved if that means you can bring in a player like Tanev.

I never said Monahan is worth Horvat money and I'll be shocked if he gets anything close to 8.5 million. Monahan probably gets a 1st at TDL since other teams will most likely want him due to his low caphit.

I'd agree with the Tanev deal although there might potentially be competition for his services so I thought it may require more, although ideally a 2nd + a later pick seems fair.
