Teuvo's outproducing Laine in both points and points per game... and Laine's contract is awful. Why would Carolina do this? If the Jackets ate half the deal, maybe. But this is an easy no for Carolina.

Laine was a PPG player the last 2 years, and he's been snake bitten this year after coming back from injury. If you're gonna criticize this trade it should be because Laine can't stay healthy, not because of his abilty to play Hockey which he's twice the player Tuevo is at this point.

If you remove Canuck’s 2026 first round pick, both teams accept the trade.

Laine's had once PPG season in his career... he's not been a PPG season, he's never been a PPG player. Teuvo's eight goals away from putting up the same total Laine did last season, 12 from the season before. Teuvo is currently doing everything Laine is supposed to be good at better than Laine. Laine's also not nearly as good defensively, he doesn't kill penalties, and he makes almost double what Teuvo does. Teuvo's straight up the better player between the two right now, denying that is just delusional.

I mean laine is basically a PPG player the two season before this. He’s injury prone but is clearly the better player when healthy.

Give me one good reason that Laine even deserves to get a 1st round pick at this point? Cause you can forget about that package, especially when Turbo straight up has more goals than Laine has points. Quite a bad sign considering that Laine is only good for offense.

Canes aren’t going to downgrade their roster and tack on a couple of extra picks for a has been.

Majorly disagree. Laine's got a great shot, but that's bene it his entire career. He's a pylon in almost every other aspect of the game. He's a 3rd line guy with an elite shot. Teuvo's the FAR superior player, and the stats prove it. Teuvo's outproducing Laine, yet again. Both points percentage and points, as I said.

Laine has been injured this year from a concussion from an elbow to the head and then breaking his collarbone after getting slewfooted. He’s missed games so I would hope turbo has more points. He’s far from the complete defensive liability he was in Winnipeg. He’s also a great passer. You can argue hes not worth this return or that his contract is too big due to injuries but there’s no doubt he’s a better player than turbo. There’s definitely a debate about which one you would rather have for their contracts though

Teuvo also has a better point pace. Teuvo's a better passer than Laine, and I don't think that's close. Teuvo's WAY better defensively than Laine, and that is borderline factual at this point. The offsetting part in the past would have been the offense, but Teuvo's going that better than Laine is. Teuvo's on pace to crush Laine's goal totals from each season in Columbus too. At this moment, Teuvo's the better player. Then you consider Laine's injuries, his contract, and everything, it's just not a great idea. There is no framework here. It just doesn't work
