Florida doesn't accept that.

Maybe could work something around Barron + Monahan and a third for Lundell or a second and a third for Knight though

Panthers aren’t trading either one. They have zero need for monahan. And Barron isn’t threading the needle to move lundell for.

There isnt a single team in the league who couldnt use a cheap 2/3rd line player. Hes also outplaying Lundell on a much worse team with much worse linemates. Nearly double the points.

Then you add in Barron, another 1st round RHD whos only 22, another piece the Panthers do not have. Knight will end up being traded. He makes 4.5m and Bob makes 10m both with 3 years left. He'll be 25/26 when he can be a starter again. So would the Panthers rather eat 14.5m in cap for a goalie tandem or trade one of them to replenish the prospect cupboard where there is currently no one of value

Panthers need to get whatever value they can out of Lundell (whos being misused and value in plummeting) and Knight (who wont get starting time and makes too much) before they become near negative assets

Lundell is better and cheaper than monahan. They’ll just keep him even though pm is not playing him correctly. And knight will be fine. He’s played the whole
Season on an average ahl team when goalie stats in the ahl are not the best way to judge a goalie. There’s not reason to trade your future for a middle 4 d man and a who would be a 4th line center on this team.

I think that Montreal is going to find it more difficult to trade Monahan than we all expect. The best thing that could happen to Montreal is that a contender gets a key injury to a top 6/9 forward and they look at Monahan as a stop-gap measure. He has made an impressive career resurection, but there is still a lot of weird surrounding him and what happened the past four years. The upside is that he's on a cheap contract, and if Montreal agrees to retain 50% of that, they could get several bidders.

Canucks pass.
Kuzmenko to Habs makes no sense.
Habs should keep their future players.
No thanks.

You keep Allen... Carolina's desire for a goalie is a bona fide starter. Allen's never been that, and now he's declining. Montembault? That might be something the Canes consider, but in this format, it's a pretty easy no. Plus, I doubt Waddell would be answering calls from Quebec right now.
