-Tanev is a really good shutdown D, which is always in demand at the deadline. It is very hard to believe a future 2nd and Myers is going to be the best offer for him.
-Monahan is a veteran face-off guy with a low cap hit and secondary offense. A 2026 2nd and an AHLer/lesser prospect probably isn't enough based on comparables.

Is Pods available? The habs would probably give him a look in a trade.

The Monahan one is interesting as not having any retention means that Montreal is free to retain on a different trade if they choose. It really depends how he plays down the rest of the stretch cause he is on a 50 point pace so even without retention you might have to give up a 1st instead depending on his pace.

I do think the prospect is a bit underwhelming though, a 24 year old who is less then a ppg in the AHL is a bottom 6 at best.

All and all at his current pace this isn't enough

Monahan is minimum a 1st and i think youd have to add a forward propsect to the flames trade. Podzolkin might make it work
