There is absolutely no reason to even bother trying to waste any picks or prospects this year .
Once Tavares contract and Marners are up they need to move away from them and concentrate on a real NHL goaltender and a real defense core that can win a cup.

The stars do not show up every game , there is no point trying to fix this.
Once Marner and Tavares are out and 23 M can be spread out that will fix the team.
Wasting any more picks or prospects this year when there is 0 chance of winning a cup is just stupid.

And if we keep trading players just hitting their prime for the good of the rebuild we have a strong chance to be the Oakland Athletics of hockey.

At some point you stop moving players and start building around them.

We did this once in 2019-2020

A competitive team only gets one of those

For a manager doing that a second time is not good. Yes Brad is new but this core has seen a no move TDL already and it ended in them missing the playoffs

I agree with the principle here but if the value is really high (were talking 1st or highly touted procpsect), I'd say trading him is worth it. I like Ferraro but realistically speaking he's a 4th/5th Dman playing 1st pairing minutes.
