JD has already came out and said they will not be expediting this rebuild .. stick to the process.
all these signings do is make the Hawks a borderline playoff team, draft and develop correctly then sign free agents when they time is right. it makes for longer success.

look what happened when they signed Khabibulin and traded for Havlat, they didn't get instant success. they still had to draft and develop, they got rid of those players once their core became established and then signed Hossa.
follow that route, not this "sign all of Calgarys FA garbage"

For me it was giving Tinordi and Zaitsev twin 3 year deals when Davidson can't wait for their current deals to expire.
