This is why I think the Pens will sell, they have so many large cap hits that have NMCs or NTCs so any cap maneuvering only clears about 2M for a better 3rd line center or bottom 4 defenseman

Unwanted contracts? I mean you can definitely say stalled prospects (which is the best of what PIT has in the system lol)…but unwanted contracts?!

They are unwanted in Montreal. POJ would be the 6th best LD in the system. Poulin would be stuck in the ahl and Nylander wouldn’t also crack the roster. There is a 50 contract limit so adding 3 guys who aren’t impactful in the nhl or ahl would be the definition of unwanted contract

Fix the powerplay lol. Pretty simple actually.

They're one of the top 5v5 teams in the league with a good PK and really strong combined goaltending right now.

The team is quite literally a powerplay away from being easily in 2nd in the metro, maybe even 1st.

Evans trades (from both sides) underestimate his value to the team, which is far greater than his value on the market.
Of course there is always a tipping point, just not one that makes sense.
His importance will only increase when (if) Monahan and Dvorak depart. Can't see him being moved before at least negotiating an extension to see if it's reasonable.

It's definitely tough to make this team better in any meaningful way via the trade market but these deals make the pens worse in both the short and long term.
