Awful for the Canucks. We aren’t taking on Anderson’s awful contract. We aren’t downgrading Kuzmenko to Monahan. And I doubt we move Cole as he’s been a solid veteran for us. Kovacevic I like as a depth option but he doesn’t have much value

Honestly I'd rather have Cole than Kovacevic, Kuzmenko instead of Anderson, and a first instead of Monahan and the other guy.

because
Kuzmenko > Anderson
Cole ~ Harris
Friedman < Kovacevic
therefore
a 1st = Monahan

I thought that Kuzmenko was not involved enough. For a playoff push, Kuzmenko a way less interesting piece than Anderson. Depending what are the plan of the VAN management, the 2 additional years (comparing to Kuzmenko) on Andy might not hurt that much.

Kovacevic has a lot more value than Cole. Both are great leaders. They play the same style of game but Kovacevic got 2 years at league minimum, Kovy is younger and a righty.

Some people think that Sean could fetch a 1st by himself. In this trade, I added Harris that has 4-5th D potential so that Monahan + Harris ~ contending 1st. (A complete disgrace for a lot of MTL fans).

I put Friedman to equalize roster spot.

Completely understand why it would be a no for VAN fans. It is clearly not as sexy as a Guentzel trade (which seems pretty unlikely to be honest).

It’s actually

Kuzmenko >>>> Anderson
Cole ~ Harris (Harris arguably worth more due to age but Cole better for the Canucks right now)
Friedman < Kovacevic
1st > Monahan

Andersson has negative value which would take a 1st to dump
Kuzmenko = 1st to acquire
Andersson 1st to dump
Monahan = 1st acquire
So there should be 2 1st coming Vancouvers way with that logic

that's funny. I wonder why monahan is worth less than a 1st, when that is exactly the price he will get come this deadline... (1st or 2nd + prospect)

Andersson is one of the worst cost per point players in the leauge, with a deal that doesn't end until he's 34, his physical game does not make up for the lack of production, even if it did it's very unlikely he keeps this much physicality to the end of his deal, players that play that style usually have a major drop off in their early 30s. I'm sorry but your the one that's out of touch with how the rest of the leagues views Andersson, no one outside of Montreal thinks he's a positive asset.

By your own reasoning, Monahan = Kuzmenko and it's a 1st to dump Anderson. That's 1 1st, not 2.

If the trade has a Vancouver 1st going out then 2 MTL 1st need to becoming back not sure how you missed the point on that one

You didn't specify low vs high.
So you're actually saying 2 top 15 picks to Vancouver and a bottom 10 pick to Montreal.
Kuzmenko is not worth a top 15 pick regardless, but I'm not debating the proposal itself, just the math of 2-1=2. Sticking Out Tongue

That might be Kuz's last game in Vancouver. Tocchet already removed him from the PP. He aint worth much.

I suggest you try to understand how leverage works in the real world.

8 game stretch, was a 39 goal scoerer last year, Andersson is one of the worst cost per point guys in the leauge it's not close

I think Vancouver takes that. Kuzmenko for Anderson is a good move for the now with Tochett. Harris and Kovy have an extra year on their deals for cheap and Van has a few UFA D men. Monahan as well! Van doesn’t need their first, their team is complete with this.

Vancouver most definitely declines. The only pieces interesting to Vancouver are Monahan (2nd round pick) or Kovacevic (3rd round pick), but by no means are they giving up Cole, Kuzmenko, and a 1st for that. I'd counter offer with Monahan (50% retained) + Kovacevic for Freidman + 2025 2nd (VAN) + Aidan McDonagh + 2024 4th (NJD)

Yeah, exactly. Even this season, Kuzmenko has 19 points in 39 games. He's still on pace for 20g/40pts this season despite the struggles and people are acting like he's washed up and will never score a goal again. Meanwhile, Anderson is on pace for 14 goals and 24 points and Habs fans act like he's worth a 1st round pick or Kuzmenko, he's not.

Kuzmenko has 93 points in 120 games and 48 goals in his last 120 games. Anderson's last 93 points span over 314 games with 48 goals in his last 179 games. They are not the same tier of player.

We aren’t downgrading Kuzmenko to Monahan.

And Pius Suter is supposed to be an upgrade on Kuzmenko now as he's the top PP option instead of Andrei?

Its quite sad that you cant get past your biased, bad faith arguments when Monahan is on a 55 plus point pace (13 PPP is an asset especially to a PP merchant club) not missing a game and can slot in that same spot in the bumper on the PP which would only add to the Canucks niche of special teams prowess as they cant compete without it while being outshot every game. I like the Canucks but such obnoxious fans make it tough to cheer for them.
