1. There would be far fewer trades with that team.

2. Fewer players would sign with that team, especially those that are over 30 years of age.

3. Depth trades or depth signings would be non-existent.

4. Any decision that doesn't clearly address a glaring positional need is automatically vetoed.

5. The fanbase would dictate what decisions can be made during a game by the coaching staff.

6. If a player on that team does not have an appealing stat line from hockeydb or jfresh, he doesn't play.

7. The GM + Head Coach would both be figureheads.

8. If there's a crisis amongst the team and an important date or deadline in NHL Hockey is approaching, the crisis will gradually get bigger.

9. Any thread in AGM that involves that team would be several pages long.

10. Internet traffic to that team in AGM would skyrocket and possibly crash the website.

11. Every team would be automatically worse because the pepople running AGMs aren't professional unlike the GMs, etc.

Really? I think fans would be more willing to take on bad contracts since the owner who pays the checks can't fire us.

Retention slots would be hoarded like a valuable video game item and never used.

"But what if we need to use our retention slots on someone else?"

Went Wughes loves using them and I love him for it.

Most owners are penny pinchers and don't like spending 300k (random cash amount they have to pay a retained player) for a lower tier draft pick.
