I think they should sell McCabe and Jarnkrok as well, both are solid players with good cap hits that can return two more 2nds or a 1st in McCabe's case.

I would sooner do this than spend any assets on upgrades that aren't going to really move the needle. Get some assets or some younger guys who may need a change of scenery.

Honestly why not move McCabe. I would like a better #2 LD anyways.

You aren’t getting a better 2LD for 2M he’s too valuable to move maybe they package him at the next deadline for a better player (Middleton)

Bertuzzi isn’t worth a 2nd. I’d say a 3rd rounder at most

You can get a much better #2 LD. And they have too. Hopefully someone in the 26-28 year old range to fit the core's window. I doubt Hanifin is an option but maybe he can be convinced to come to TO in the off season if he becomes an FA. Roy is a guy I would target as well. I generally don't like FA's because they are always over priced but I think you could make it work in the off season where they get younger next year, a little less deep but with far more flexibility the season after when JT takes a pay cut and the cap continues to rise.

A reset is needed for this team. It's clear, they need a new coach who has a track record of implementing young players and gets teams to play with maximum intensity. I don't know who that is. I would love Cooper but he's not available. Maybe just fire Keefe, give Boucher the interim role and sell.

Maybe they turn it around and still make the playoffs and that would be good but they'll be underdogs with a younger and less experienced team. It's not impossible they improve using some call ups or whoever they bring in when they sell whoever they sell. It's time to look forward.

Bertuzzi has a NMC, which means we would be able to get him for very cheap. For Taylor Hall, who had a NMC, and Curtis Lazar, we sent Anders Bjork and a 2nd rounder.

I think:

To BOS: Tyler Bertuzzi 50% retained, 2024 4th rounder

To TOR: 2026 3rd and a 2025 5th

Hanifin isn’t signing in Canada just not gonna happen but I would trade McCabe and the Boston 2nd next year for Middleton don’t even need him retained Minnesota can flip McCabe for a 1st likely it’s a win win

They don’t sell him for less then a 3rd drop the other picks and it’s a fine deal it’s light but whatever

I think you can do better than Middleton though and should. He's alright but he's not good enough. I am hopeful a few shrewd moves can get us in a much better direction where some defensive additions in the right age range will be major contributors

Not sure yet. Hanifin would be nice, because he can move the puck.

No thank you

Don’t have the cap space to chase pieces they don’t need.

If the rumours are true then the Avs will have no interest in Domi.
