Could Hertl go to Avs

Created by: Connor_McJesus_97
Team: 2024-25 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 21, 2024
Published: Jan. 21, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Could Hertl be a guy to target? All of a sudden this might be the most potent centerdepth in the league. It has everything you could wish. Also plenty of size to go with it. Bertuzzi could get himself a great chance to get himself a nice deal at 2025 UFA if he can succeed here.

That pp looks like a 35%+ one ;)

I don't see SJ trading Tomas Hertl.
Tomas Hertl isn't giving up in SJ, and he's buying in on the SJ rebuild.

Hertl would be a great addition to the AVs. Can't see the Sharks parting with him for any deal that doesn't include a first. Change that 2nd to a 1st and it's fair. Don't see how the AVs fit Hertl under the cap longterm.

Hertl would be a great stylistic fit in Colorado but the price would be astronomical and would requiring shipping out some assets

The only way it fits is if Landeskog never plays again, and even then some juggling would need to be done.

Hertl is 30 already. Has 8 million cap hit. There's no way of fitting him in long term especially if landeskog comes back.
And avs have byram and rantenen extensions.

Of sharks retained at least 40% I could see them possibly doing it

Grier would have to think about this hard. We dont have a Girard like player in the pipeline. We have more C coming
