No, I'm acting like comps exist. Start of the year Bo was your comp, but you are hoping to get that now with the year he has had. 1st from a playoff team B prospect and cap dump coming back is the ceiling. Lekkermaki (top 15 pick who won world junior MVP) > than Islanders protected pick and Raty. You are acting like people are lining up to overpay for his 15-goal pace. He's a good player and worth a later 1st plus a sweetener, but you're out here thinking he's worth multiple first-rounders in value which is far off it is laughable.

You understand that picks aren't set at the time of trade, right so just because it ended up being 17, it could have been and was more likely to be higher? Or do you know Lekkermaki's value is up from when he was drafted (he'd be above 15 in a redraft)? Or moving up even a couple of spots in the draft, especially the further up you are in the 1st round, is absurdly expensive. For example moving up two spots, the same number of spots as 17 to 15 in this case, cost a third (22 to 20 in 2021 and 24 to 22 in 2020).

Canucks decline. Lekkerimaki is untouchable, simple as that.

You do realize that players value isn't equivalent to where they were picked. If that's the case, the Canucks will give you Podkolzin for Zary and a 2nd. Flames should be all over that given that Podz was drafted 10th overall and Zary 24th, so Podz must be far more valuable.

Lekkerimaki was picked 15th, and at the time of the draft it was already considered a steal that he was still available (lots of mock drafts/projections had him in the 8-12 range). In a redraft, he'd almost certainly go in the top 10. He's won world junior's MVP and is one of the top players on his SHL team despite being a 19 year old playing against grown men. His value has increased significantly since he was drafted, he's easily worth a 1st+ and adding another 1st to get Lindholm is far too much for Vancouver to give up. No rental is returning 2 1sts+ in value, they simply aren't worth that.
