Would rather have Kovalenko than Dowd but I like the Monahan pickup, RyJo could center the fourth line and you could keep the Wood Oconnor Colton line togeher

I don't think giving up Kovalenko for a 4th line C makes sense. Sure, Kovalenko had injuries this year but he was a ppg player in the KHL.

Avs decline both; absolutely not trading a 1st for Monahan and they didn't sign Kovalenko just to move him for a 4C. Dowd is good but they have other assets they can trade if they want him.

I assume Capitals just take a 2nd round pick maybe more for Dowd. A ton of hype surrounding Kovalenko but the KHL is worse than the AHL at this point and I’d rather go with a pick than a 24 year old 5”10 winger. He’ll be 25 next year when he’ll likely sign. Avs can likely do more with him than the Capitals

If I could only declare a moratorium on Monahan to Avs AGMs. Habs fans have been trying to get rid of him for way too much for two years now. Unless a time machine can bring 2018 Monahan to 2024, no no no no no, etc.

This isn't all in, this is barely in... balls aren't even in the water yet..

And no both trades

He is already signed to the Avs. He terminated his KHL contract this past summer and the Avs loaned him to his KHL team. He will be joining Colorado as soon as his KHL season ends.

Either way he’s not exactly young / didn’t help us win today as much as Dowd does.

Why in the world is Washington worried about winning today? They should be rebuilding, and moving a 4C for a teams most NHL ready prospect (who plays like a cross between Arturri Lehkonen and Val Nichushkin), is exactly what Washington should be doing.

Its a moot point though. Colorado would never make that trade.
