It's possible returns for certain players are lesser than what I'm proposing here, but at the end of the day, adding Robertson is really the only big addition here. If the caps need to pay to dump Kuznetsov and don't get Dvorak in return, re-sign NAK and play Malenstyn at 4C.

Leafs obviously accept but no way caps are throwing patches in there for free so they would decline this lol

I don't know how much value Pacioretty has, but it would be fine with me if it was TVR and Patches for Robertson straight up. Maybe other fans have different ideas.

I just don’t think we need patches so I would say we would pass on that but I love the trade as is if you just drop patches I think this has a real shot at being our deadline move

Genuine question, with Rantanen, Drouin, Lehkonen, Nichushkin, Wood, LOC , Kovalenko coming, Cogliano, Meyers (who should be playing in the NHL), Kiviranta, Tufte(who also should probably be playing the NHL), and possibly Landeskog all on the wing why would COL want a guy like Milano or more importantly why would they want his contract?

They might not. It could be to any team that has a spot open in the top 9 and wants to add him. He's only making 1.95m per year for the next two seasons so it's not an anchor of a contract or anything. I'd be happy with whatever return considering he's essentially found money for the caps.

Ignoring Kuznetsov's partial NTC, don't see any reason Montreal would consider that. replacing a mediocre to bad center with another mediocre to bad center at almost twice the cap hit makes no sense.

I don’t think Dillon is worth getting back, and I’d have Miro in the lineup. Sandin I can imagine a bridge deal for, he hasn’t had the best year

My point still stands, I can't speak for others though. Kuznetsov doesn't do much other than sell more jerseys.

I proposed it. Feel free to disagree but I'd do that in a heartbeat.

taking on such a contract without any compensation is simply put 'bad assets management'

Dvorak is a worse asset though so thats what the gain is. There is higher return for Kuzy is the form of having a better player who can help the team in a way they need more than what Dvorak can offer. Habs cap space is not an issue at all so this is upgrading for free essentially. The main compensation is the better player. Or at the very least a player who can give the Habs something they dont have. Dvorak has become an almost useless player to the Habs. Hes better suited on a team trying to close out games defensively. Habs just need to be fun again while they are rebuilding. Kuzy could help with that and frankly there is a chance they can revive his game. Making him a much more valuable asset than Dvorak, who the Habs are trying to move and no one is biting unless they retain.
