I think what he is trying to say is Hugo’ will want more quality over quantity. A Bprospect, a late 2nd and a late 3rd…in 2026 aren’t going to do it.

A C prospect left-handed forward, of whom we have an excess, a LhD whom we don't need because that's our strongest and deepest position, and Kaapo Kakko for Trevor Zegras.

We're not trading Zegras for a grab bag of lesser pieces, especially when it's not even equal value.

Kakko may have been drafted before Zegras, but that just speaks to the incompetence of NYR developmental team that Zegras has turned out to be the far superior player.

You dont need to trade Wheeler, just waive him. Why waste a 2nd round pick?

Trading for Zegras AND Lindholm is totally unnecessary.

All these trades and you wont be able to resign 3/4 of them. Total waste of assets.

The Monahan trade is missing anything Montreal would be interested in getting, therefor it is not "fine" it is declined!

Montreal need quality so while a 2nd and a 3rd have the value of a 1st we still want a 1st, the offer is therefore rejected
