Bored and Depressed

Team: 2023-24 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 28, 2024
Published: Jan. 28, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Isles are done this year. This offseason, roster should have big turnovers with the biggest being Lou Fired and Patrick Roy stepping up to be our new GM. He will move some of the older guys in the offseason.

Here are some of the moves for now at the trading deadline I'd do.
Trades
1.
NYI
  1. Kaliyev, Arthur
  2. 2025 4th round pick (LAK)
LAK
  1. Clutterbuck, Cal
  2. Wahlstrom, Oliver
Additional Details:
Kings get Clutterbuck for the playoffs and Walhstrom who has top line talent but hasn't put it together in NY. For Kaliyev who's playing the 4th line. Isles do this to inject new young players into an aging roster.
2.
NYI
  1. 2024 5th round pick (CGY)
TOR
  1. Martin, Matt
Additional Details:
Martin goes back to Toronto who needs toughness for playoff run. He's back with BBF (Marner).
3.
NYI
  1. 2024 5th round pick (PIT)
SJS
  1. Aho, Sebastian
Additional Details:
Not a big D-man, but he's got speed and is an offensive minded guy. He's been up and down for the isles, but a full-time spot with a team like the sharks can really benefit him.

Leafs aren't paying for Martin and his 1.5 million. No place for him on this roster and we already have Reaves.

No offense, but how is wahlstrom “top line talent”? he’s looking more like a middle 6 player now

none taken. He was a top 6 talent but Lou has screwed with his mind. Now I'm not saying he'll turn into anything But I really like to see him get a change of scenery and a real chance somewhere else.

I’ve haven’t watched too much of him but he looks like a slow skater and not a 200ft player. His threat is his shot, but not very accurate. Hopefully they sell him soon or he’ll get the same return the rangers got for Kravtsov

Lou doesn't set the lineup, Lou's not in charge of player development. Coaches did that. Wahlstrom hasn't been able to make it stick.

I think as a diehard Isles fan who watch all games and read everything I possibly can about my team. Have a better understanding what the Wahlstrom situation was then you. No offense.

Sharks have about 6 LD they'd prefer to play over Aho, so no, they can't really benefit from him. It's the only position they have too many NHL caliber players at
