Carlo only gets moved if it’s for a legit 1C and his value is definitely higher than Kuzmenko

can you try doing one where the team doesn't get worse?

you've moved out a first round pick, and two of the teams top prospects, and the team is significantly worse.

why?

“You traded Blake Wheeler, Mark Stuart, Joe Colbourn, a 1st rounder for Rich Peverley and Tomas Kaberle? Are you trying to make the team significantly worse? Why? I simply don’t get it. You constantly try to ruin this team for decades to come.”

Peverley and Kaberle were obvious upgrades from guys on the current team. They filled very clear holes. There was a mission there.

Whereas here we have:
Debrusk>Kuzmenko - downgrade
Carlo>>>>>>>>Savard - downgrade (and for a lot of years mind you)
In exchange for destroying the long term build of the D group, you get....Adam Henrique? Probably the teams third best center. Meh. And in the process you trash the future of the team, moving two valuable prospects and a first round pick.

teams worse. cupboards are stripped. why? How about instead, you identify areas that this team should improve, and make an effort to improve them without destroying the current roster? just an idea.

well this should be simple. generally speaking it is not a good idea to make a first place hockey team worse. Also generally speaking its a good idea to try to not get worse both short term, and long term. make sense?

Kuzmenko is mediocre.

Carlo is the canucks best shut down D with an awesome contract long term. If the bruins did this, I wouldn't watch another game all season.

It is, but Debrusk is a pending UFA so it really doesn't make sense, he has way more value to another team than MTL.

Struble is basically an equivalent prospect to Lysell, but on defense. We have zero D prospects other than Lohrei. I actually think our forward prospect depth is underrated, though not great, even while moving on from Merkulov and Lysell. I think you’re alone here thinking Merkulov is untouchable.

Montreal can have fun with Jake debrusk. I love Savards game

Unless DeBrusk comes with an extension, it a big no from MTL imo. It shouldn't be undersold having Struble included in this deal. Lysell looks like a nice piece, but he's definitely not worth BOTH what MTL could get for Savard AND Struble. 20 games of Debrusk with no extension doesn't add anything for MTL.

Yeah was thinking there would be an extension in place. Kent Hughes said he was looking for young players with scoring upside. Well, there’s two

when on earth did i say merkulov is untouchable? point me to that. i would be interested to read it.

he shouldn't be moved without improving the team though - because duh.

you know who is way better than savard?

Brandon Carlo

know who is way better than kuzmenko?

Jake Debrusk.

so what's the point?

all these trades are really bad for Boston. Team is now worse with less draft and prospect capital than they previously had

How about we resign DeBrusk, move Frederic to the Zacha/Pasta line and try to go with the guys that currently have us scoring at a fairly impressive rate.

Sometimes change is negative
