If NJ makes these trades, will they ever reach a playoff spot by April?

These aren't trades for the specific players (Though I would probably be open to a Holtz-Rossi swap), just a question about value

Rossi is probably the better one to have, but NJ has a more realistic chance getting Cole without giving up a lot.

I’d probably be open to a Rossi-Holtz swap again for a quality long term 3C, although Minnesota very much wouldn’t be simply due to their lack of other center options.

Very similar production all the way up with a slight edge favouring holtz.

That wasn't the purpose of this post tho, which was just a question about values

Jackets wouldn’t really be interested in moving sillinger atm. Has a swagger about him he hasn’t had in a long time.
Has that upside in a center we desperately need.

My gut tells me Rossi, then Quinn, then Sillinger, but they're all pretty close. Maybe Sillinger over Quinn because he plays the premium position and is younger.

Regardless, yeah, none of their respective teams are moving them, and all of their respective fanbases (me included) bias toward their players.

I’m using it as proxies (sillinger for Dach at the time of his trade) vs (Holtz for Rossi/Quinn). Wanted to take the bias out from myself and habs fans.

And where would you slot Holtz, Guhle, Dach at time of trade in there?

Brilliant, good use of this site IMO. Can't wait to see the results

Quinn has been hurt, but he's above Rossi
Quinn played only 17 games but nearly has half the points of Rossi who's played all year

I really don’t have a dog in this fight.

But I think Rossi has looked fantastic this year.

I doubt the Wild would be interested in doing that. Rossi has finally blossomed and has been better than Holtz, who also is not a C. Rossi is a better fit for the Wild and has more value.

I agree Rossi is a much better fit than Holtz in Minnesota. I disagree with the statement that Rossi has been better than holtz this year. While Rossi has been excellent this year, holtz scores at a higher rate both 5v5 and on the power play. Neither have been particularly good defensively.

It’s actually shocking how similar their production has been all the way up.

Similar AHL domination (with an edge to Holtz) while being unable to establish a foothold in the NHL until this year. And then both breaking out with fantastic 5v5 play at the NHL level this year.

I’d like to be very clear and say I am not trying to slight Rossi, I think he’s a fantastic young player who because of his position has more value/fit than holtz. But I do want to say that at least this year, holtz has been every bit as good.
