I would definitely consider this as the Flames. Kakko has shown flashes of the talent that got him drafted 2OA but obviously not consistently.

Being 6'3" means he isn't projected to hit his breakout threshold until 400 NHL games.

Flames can afford to be more patient and give him better deployment than the Rangers.

Yeah it might not be quite a slam dunk get er done type of offer but I'd consider it too. Too bad Kakko isn't a right shot or a gritty North American player, then it might be a slam dunk. Finnish players do seem to have quite a bit more trouble adjusting to North American hockey than other Europeans but the Finns that turn out best do tend to be wingers like Selanne and Kurri.

Teemu Selanne on how he became a right shot: "Two green Finn Star sticks," Selanne recalled. "So my brothers, they picked the green ones, left-handed, and [the] only stick left was ugly, yellow, right-handed. So I cried to my mother and I said, 'I'm not going to take that stick' and then my mom said, 'Well, then you don't play hockey.' So then I had to take it and learn to play with the right-handed one."
