Canes pass. Do not need Kahkonen with Freddie clear to return. Canes are likely out of the goalie market

If TB thought Jan Rutta was worth and we're able to pay him 2.75 he'd already be wearing a blue and white lightning bolt ⚡.
TB would be more likely to offer what you have VGK paying for Duclair.

Canes just keep their 3rd and the 4 goalies they already have under contract (Pyotr healthy now, Freddie recovering, Raanta backup and Martin stop gap).

Makes sense to me. I wonder then who is left looking for a goalie in the trade market other than New Jersey?

I think this is one of the root issue here, is the trade market is taking longer to form this year. It lead to a bit of an over pay by Van to get things kicked off. The goalie market is always a challenge…but my guess is it won’t be fully formed until situations are re-evaluated after AS break and closer to TDL.

I think in general people underestimate how much people will pay to get the guy they want/need at the deadline. On the other end people overvalue a really solid player but if no one really has a need for him he get's dealt for near nothing. Eller and Jeannot are good examples of the first point, Nyquist would probably be an example for a guy who went for way less than he's worth.

With that said, as I was looking at all the TDL moves from last year, it made me realize this ACGM is selling crazy low on these players. SO many 1sts and 2nds were traded last year for just depth scoring
