I don't think Jiricek is going anywhere, but that's exactly the kind of trade that we'd move him for. Vancouver get's a guy who's NHL-ready now with 1RD upside, CBJ get a guy who's NHL-ready next year with 1RD upside and a slightly better pick for taking a little higher risk. Though I'd like to see both picks in 2025 instead.

Willander is not close in value to Jiricek and I don't know that anyone sees him as a potential 1D. He's smooth skating and could be a decent rush defender but in that sense he's just a budget Mateychuk.

Vancouver would have to add tremendous to this deal and I can't see much in their pool that would make it worthwhile.
