Description

Seeing a lot of you dreamers and AGMs taking Nic Dowd for 4th rd picks and crappy AHL players. 1) That is not happening, 2) Dowd is extremely important to the Caps both on and off ice, 3) He has always been on friendly contracts and made everyone around him better.

So here's a few folks leaving DC...and not leaving: Dowd, Fehervary, McMichael, Protas, Strome, Wilson, Ovechkin (obviously), and Lindgren (too steady and highly needed).

Note most trade destinations are placeholders for value discussion purposes...

I wish Kuz would bring that return back but he won't. I think the best Caps can hope for is eating half his salary and moving him to NSH for like a 4th or something.

My view on the Caps is: if you're over 26 years old and aren't named Ovechkin, Strome, or Wilson -- a trade should be explored.

Where does Mantha fit into the Canes lineup? As the 8-9th winger, probably solidifying Lemieux never sees the ice (which is fine), but he himself is only on the ice if there is an injury. I don't think that is worth a second. I can't speak to other teams offering that if they have a need, but the Canes are not the right fit.

Sad but correct. At this point he's played himself to Europe or elsewhere...

Kuzy has made himself untradeable ironically (as he has wanted to get out but is barely playing well) and Mantha will go to a team like the Isles or Seattle or St. Louis who need help jumping up their offence. They only add him though if they are in a playoff spot in a month.
