I don’t keep up with the sens much but is Chabot not good anymore?

He’s good. Both him and Chychrun are good . I have no issues with either player. I have issues with both of them filling the exact same position. They’re both 2 LDs on a contender . I don’t like either playing the right side. You have to trade one for a RD that can complement one of them

Offensively, yes. Defensively... questionable. Great first pass and breakout though! Makes some interesting decisions with the puck too. Him and Chychrun look a little lost in the d-zone 70% of the time.

He’s very good at pushing the puck up tho . The problem is a lot of our players are effective at the same thing. There’s an imbalance

Devils need that…since Severson left, we have been missing the guy who can kick start the transition with a clean pass out of the zone. Kids are doing well, Marino is adequate in that regard, but Bahl, Smith, Hatakka, etc are brutal.

Not sure how we would fit Chabot’s AAV though.

I don’t know what would make Hamilton deal worthwhile for NJD side. He also has full protection, so he would want to leave. And I think he is pretty happy here.

If he did want to exit for some reason, our long-term hole to address are goaltending, defensive depth and probably 3C now that McLeod is gone. If Toffoli is traded or walks in Free agency….we probably look to add a winger at some point too.

I like the makeup of this squad csick. Next big move is to find a solid coach, no disrespect to Martin.
