Seems like most of those quotes and articles are copy-pasta, though. The wording seems too specific and the math makes too much sense. So, I am choosing to interpret it differently until direct clarification is made. It literally says "cannot advance... but does not effect a teams ability to retain their presumptive draft position in the lottery", which would signify that numbers are still assigned to them but they cannot advance. I don't know why they would put that there instead of saying that a team would specifically be "ineligible or excluded from the lottery".

I think we are losing sight of the purpose of the rule changes. They were put in place to ensure that teams lower in the standings had a better chance at top picks, not the other way around.

Okay, suit yourself…feel like this comes up every year and it was been settled. I am going to assume that until corrected otherwise.

Love Graf. And he is smart kid too. Had a crazy number of offers last year. His linemate, Quillan is solid too. Had them among my best NCAA lines. Would probably put them first if redid it today.

It’s actually a good year for forwards…TJ Hughes, Luke Granger, Riese Gaber. Not many will make it, but I think we see Graf in NHL this year.

The defense crop is thin this year. Bavaro and Huard maybe. Bengsson and Anhorn probably get a chance. Krys maybe.

my best NCAA free agents

Yeah. Huard is interesting. Got to watch him in person earlier this season when BU played at UNH. I live a couple towns over from Durham, and wanted to go see Greener. Winters was AWESOME in that game. Huard has actually been to a Blackhawks prospect camp last year or the year before. So, I kind of wonder if they were planning on signing him at the end of his season. I loved watching Nevers and Nelson late last season and in their playoff games. They were awesome playoff performers. And yeah TJ Hughes is solid. I loved Skoog last year too, great pickup for Charlotte, I wonder if FLA or someone else will give him an NHL contract. Nadeau is fun. I like Quillan too.

There are a lot of guys who are interesting but are also undersized and will likely get overlooked because of that. I've been watching more CHL this year, though. Finally took the plunge and bought a CHLtv subscription. And because I have been watching way more hockey this year than I used to, I have been very pointed in the games I watch. I pick players that are drafted, draft eligible, or just catch my eye in an article or while sifting through stats and rosters on EP, and then I watch them. I don't really have favorite teams or favorite players and I don't really watch casually. I try to pick specific players games apart and mostly filter the rest out unless someone manages to catch my eye in game.

Also, speaking of UNH, they are probably gonna be on the rise soon. I sat next to their writer and he talked my ear off about how they finally switched to NHL size ice and have all these plans for new athletic facilities with a huge gym and locker rooms and all that good stuff. They are really making a push to do all that stuff to help with their recruiting. And they have some guys there this year and coming in over the next few years who could really help them make a dent in Hockey East. So that's pretty fun.
