NYI buying is only kicking the can down the road. ATP I pray we dont buy. We need prospects. We are so depleted that I am hyping up a center with 19 points in 24 games with Notre Dame lol.

Just go grab someone like Nikita Artamonov or Trevor Connelly, someone with skill, then start praparing for 2-3 years from now where we move money now. We arent winning anything this season

The Horvat Deal and the romanov deal last year confirmed we are in win now mode. Lou wants one last cup in his career. If we were going to rebuild it should have started summer of 2022.

Vatrano is a 3rd liner getting top 6 minutes on an awful team. Hes worth a 3rd rd pick at best to the isles

Good luck trying to bring in any players with that mentality lmao. Is this your first year watching hockey?

There are plenty of good undervalued wingers that get trade for 2nd and 3rd rd picks

Sebastian Aho is a LhD, so we wouldn't want him to be part of a Vatrano trade package. Make it William Dufour, for example. (We'd be looking for a RW prospect or RD prospect.) Collapse the two seconds into your 2025 third that becomes a 2025 second if the Islanders reach the finals either this season or next (remember that Frankie has another season to go on his contract). I think that that's what we would accept for him IF we have any interest in trading him at all.

Medicinal pharmaceuticals, or recreational?

And there are plenty that fetch 1sts plus. Vatrano being one

I think you're failing to recall that he's paid like a third liner, but producing like a top 6, and has an additional year on his contract after this, thus he's not a rental like a Kubalik would be.

You’re missing the point. There are better players available for less. Vatrano won’t return a 1sf from the isles. He doesn’t fill a need for them. Isles need a top 6 player who can drive play

He’s not having the impact of a top 6 forward . Too many flaws in his game

No chance the isles would offer that much for him......Even if they were buying, which they aren't.

And the charts for players that you can "get for less" are where?

Eberle is a rental, Vatrano is not, this ACGM asked for 50% retention on Vatrano for this season AND next, so you're starting off on a real bad comparison. Secondly, you don't have the cap space to acquire him without sending salary back, who do you think Seattle going to be willing to take, and how much extra are they going to charge for that? Thirdly, what makes you think Eberle wants to come back to Lou after he exposed him for the expansion draft? He's got enough trade protection to shoot down a trade if he feels like it. Lastly, the Kraken are two points out of a wildcard spot with a game in hand, they're not sellers at the moment, so Eberle likely isn't even available.

But sure, I guess if everything goes your way, you might get Eberle cheaper. To which I respond with cool, we'll keep Vatrano, we're more than happy to.
