maybe at 2x4. also, you're going to need some more cap space to fill out this roster

Despite the drop in production, you still bring back DeBrusk plus a raise?
I know it's a random ass rumor but, I like the idea of Boston trading for Hertl in the off-season

I could see 2X4 as well. Frees up 500k to add maybe add Wotherspoon for under a mil

I think Bertuzzi's chance of returning is pretty slim... especially at that contract #. He is having a very bad season and has a lengthy injury history. Given his play style, I don't think his game is going to age well.

Signing him also blocks the development of Lysell/Merk and potentially even Freddy. Only way I could see a Bert reunion is if he takes a discount to come back ($3.5M or less) and the Bruins don't re-sign Debrusk.

His production has not fallen pff that much. Past two season has 25+ goals and is on pace for around 20 this year. He’s better than Owen Tippet who just got 6.2 mil

Bert is just not great, put him next to Matthews and Marner and he still cant produce, rather spend that money elsewhere

Everything else is fine, but need more players on roster

Fair it's not a crazy drop
If your arguing better player than yes he's better than Tippett but, Tippett looks like the better goal scorer probably going to hit 30 this season.
I just think that 6.5mil could be better spent

ya, you'll need to free up some cap. this doesn't work. bruins run a 23 man roster.

laugh If Tyler Bertuzzi wanted 3 x $4,500,000 he'd still be with Detroit not traded to Boston then signed with Toronto.

Good luck on the Noah Hanifin signing, he'll be traded to a team and then extended and i highly doubt it's Boston.

Bert is going to do what is best for Bert. His agents miscalculated his market and his fit. I doubt Sweeney will have the patience to wait it out with him and act quickly/decisively with a player that will do the same. That isn’t his representatives style

For all the positives Bert brings offensively, I don’t want him and Pasta on the same line defensively.

Don't see BOS being interested in a Bert reunion, unless Neely forces his hand because he's "tough". Ideally they should be keeping spots open for Merk and Lysell.

If Bert does return, he should not be on the same line as Pasta. Those two together get killed defensively 5v5.
